The MCU has got me In My Feelings…Again

Soooo…THIS dropped the other morning on YouTube:

Now mind you, having my lighter-hued namesake being on the verge of taking the big dirt nap was a bit of a bummer. That little tidbit aside, the new trailer for ‘Avengers Endgame has got ‘Black Tony Stark’ all in his feelings for a number of reasons:

1) It’s the official start of the next ‘phase’ of the MCU. We’ve heard all the rumors since the end of ‘Avengers Infinity War’ about who’s going to be leaving the franchise, who’s going to be introduced, where the MCU is going in general, etc. One thing’s for sure from the initial drop of this trailer; It’s just as dark as Infinity War. Cap’s lost his beard gang membership because of that Thanos finger snap, Thor’s grungy and rocking a hoodie, and Clint Barton? Well… See #2

2) They done pissed off our friendly neighborhood, cool customer marksman/family man Clint ‘Hawkeye’ Barton. Just flat out pushed him over the edge. So much so that he’s been forced to adopt a new, even darker badass identity. Yes, it looks like we get to see Ronin make his debut in the film, though the backstory as to his emergence will be sure to spawn conjecture as to what prompted the drastic change. It could be possible that Clint’s fam didn’t escape the cataclysm of the events of Infinity War? Either way, it’s a good bet that we’re going to see a LOT of the MCU post dusting.

3) Why is Thanos’ armor sitting in some wheat field like a golden scarecrow? Why is Shuri listed on the Avenger’s video billboard like some sort of missing person? Where and how will Captain Marvel make an appearance, and what role will she play in Endgame? One thing we DO know from the glimpse that we got from the trailer is that Scot Lang (aka Ant-Man) is going to have a bigger role in the overall flow of the movie than people realized, DESPITE the rest of his crew getting dusted at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp’s end credit scene.

Like everybody else, I’m geeked about this trailer dropping when it did (Sorry Aqua-Man…LOL). Between Captain Marvel and future glimpses into ‘Avenger’s Endgame’, Marvel’s off to a blazing start to its new frontier of re-introducing the post Phase 1 Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are plenty of theory vids out there on the web that does their diligence in dissecting what we just saw in the trailer, but I prefer to just take it slow and let the anticipation simmer and build; It’s a lot more enjoyable that way…LOL.

Until next entry…
